Dr. Greg Harmsworth  MbChB, PGdipMSM, Adv Cert Skin Cancer Medicine & Surgery (SCCA), Adv Cert Dermoscopy (SCCA)

In 2012, Greg Harmsworth, Greg Harmsworth set up the Lakes Skin Cancer Clinic. His goal was to offer skin cancer services of a high standard to the Central Otago community. His interest in skin cancer management is longstanding. In 2003, he began furthering his study through the Universities of Auckland and Queensland. He has since undertaken further study through the Skin Cancer College of Australasia completing a Diploma of Dermoscopy and a Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery. This earns him the status of Skin Cancer College Accredited Doctor.

Greg is quick to point out that “early detection of skin cancer leads to much better outcomes for patients.”

Dr. Stephanie Das   MbChbs, MMedSci (Hons), FRNZCGP, DipDerm

Dr. Stephanie Das graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2006 and worked in the UK before moving to NZ. The majority of her hospital work has been in surgical specialties,  before working as a specialist GP since 2016. She completed her training in dermatoscopy and skin cancer diagnosis and management with the University of Cardiff. She is currently working towards a fellowship programme with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.  Stephanie has an interest in general skin conditions and has completed a Dermatology Diploma with the Australian Institute of Dermatology. 

She is thrilled to be part of the Lakes Skin Cancer team and has been working at the clinic since 2021. Stephanie and her young family live in Wanaka and when they are not working they enjoy skiing, mountaineering, biking, climbing and everything the beautiful Central Otago has to offer.

Dr. David Scharapow   MBBS FRNZCGP 

Dr David Scharapow started his career in 2000 after graduating from the University of Tasmania.  He permanently relocated to NZ in 2007 and has worked in general practice since.  David has decided to work exclusively in skin cancer medicine having completed the Skin Cancer College Certificate in Dermoscopy. 

Barbara Lake   Registered Nurse 

Barbara has worked for many years in Intensive Care in Dunedin Public Hospital, subsequent to which she has worked at Dunstan Hospital caring for inpatients and chemotherapy outpatients. She has a wealth of experience in a broad range of clinical situtions.

 

Michelle Paul   Registered Nurse

Michelle has 30 years experience in different areas of nursing, including Surgical Nursing, Pre and Post Anaesthetic Care,  Practice Nursing and Skin Cancer treatment and surgical procedures. Michelle has joined us in 2023 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our nursing team.
